It is so great to see so many passionate individuals who are looking to better their skills as an artist. This was especially true at our first Digital Character Design with Travis Overstreet power-mentor workshop!
The students were taken through the journey of understanding the principles of character design, to shape language, sketching and silhouette design, all the way to value painting, texture, material and final color. This is a TON of information for one weekend, but our students loved every minute.
Designing characters isn’t always about the final rendering, working through and exploring various designs through sketching is all part of the process used by professional character and concept artists today.
