Our last Demolition Night with PixelSquid was a milestone for Chimirus. It was the first time we collaborated directly with a software company to put on an extraordinary event with our friends at TEAMS Design.
PixelSquid is a new Photoshop plug-in that allows fully rotatable, 3D imagery with a library of thousands of objects to choose from for your compositing needs—immediately. Think of it as 3-D stock all with transparent backgrounds, so no masking is needed. Forget using traditional stock ever again. Find an object, pick the perfect angle, color correct and you’re done. This tool allows you to complete your projects 50% faster and increase the quality four-fold.
As we all know, Photoshop is a leading tool for concept art, digital illustration, photo retouching, and compositing. The demands for quality and volume of work has grown exponentially. As creators, we need solutions to stay relevant and keep up with the speed of production. This is where PixelSquid rules.
This is why our upcoming workshop Beyond Photoshop is being offered to you. Our goal is to keep your skills relevant by teaching professional techniques to design, digital illustration, style frames, and concept art.
At our Demolition Night, we had two live artists, Ron Domingue and Dave Pasciuto who showed off the capabilities of the tool for digital illustration and concept art. The audience was so engaged and asked a ton of questions, and rightfully so—the tool is quite amazing. If you haven’t seen it in action, you should take a look.
